Last night the temp went down to Minus one as forecast, but did not stop there - minus 5 to be precise. So a bit chilly here this morning with most of the world frozen solid. Fortunately I got to the shower pipes just as they were poised to freeze and kept it going - the kitchen, not so much... And despite extensive sunshine the temp did not make it over 5 degrees - brrr. And the neighbour's dogs have been yapping all day and the poor pony they have tethered in their yard has its tether caught around its hind leg (hopefully the owners will be here for their daily check soon and can sort that one out - it will need one to hold the head and another to work on the hind leg. I think it is an entire stallion, so not a one-person job. Wood cut and fire burning all day. A call from Jean this morning promised longer knitting needles, but when I got there they were not only the same size, but also the wrong diameter, but it was nice to catch up and sit in the sun eating her savoury scones while partaking of a cuppa. The oxtail stew should be good for another couple of meals, so nothing to do but sit back and eat it in front of the fire!!
