All this gallivanting around has left me exhausted so it was a very late 7 am before I staggered out of bed this morning. The day bid fair, but let itself down badly by lunchtime when it clouded over and drizzle has been the main feature of the afternoon. A wind is picking up and the fire is, once again, blazing. Progress on stuff slowed today but I have managed a first draft of our grant application and created a Facebook page for the Community Garden. It is not ready to be launched yet as the bank has yet to successfully send me any details of our new account. The last two tries have been tracked down to the school, clearly addressed to the school, despite the bank's assurances they were addressed to me. I will be taking them back with me when I go in to collect the right documentation. Once that is done I can create a paypal account, and from there launch the FB page. The need for the paypal account is that we need to be able to sell copies of plans for the polytunnel to raise funds - and doing it on-line saves having to print them out, so a double win for us.
So a little firewood cut, lunch eaten and that was about the full extent of the day (oh, and a quick run into Oatlands to deliver the minutes to allow the next bank account to be established (with the Commonwealth this time as they know where we live) for the OUR TASMANIA group. We have discovered our preferred domain name has already been snaffled but will be launching into getting our website up and running as soon as possible. FB can be a two-edged sword, as we lack control over what others post there, and deleting irrelevant or scaremongering type sources could reduce support - so we need to edit it with great care. The Website, on the other hand, will allow us to control content much more effectively.
