So after fasting from midnight the night before, I was finally wheeled into Theatre at 4 in the afternoon. All went well, but clearly the surgeon was in a hurry as his approach to dressings would not have won him a badge in Brownies. A great unevenly distributed glob of gauze pasted to the skin using some sort of surgical gladwrap made for an uncomfortable few days, and did untold harm to the skin of my chest. But after a trip to the local doctor for permission to rip it off, it is now replaced with nice flat dressings of the more acceptable variety. Stitches out on Friday. I was supposed to go to Hobart for this five minute procedure, but the local doctor has endorsed my decision to avoid Hobart in the Christmas rush, and get it done locally.

Meanwhile the vege patch is thriving - a regular 15 minute watering as I take Seb for his 'short' walk of the morning is more than sufficient, and so far the neighbour's chooks have remained on their side of the fence.

I have not got much more to report I am afraid, as I have been taking it easy this week, and doing vast quantities of knitting rather than anything more demanding, and Billy the Limpet has been ensuring I remain out of contact with the wider world by glueing himself to me. I have had to lock him in the bathroom to get to the laptop!

  1. Glad to hear you are through all that, and that the veggies are doing well. No harm in taking it easy!
